I was just wondering what had happened to my old car, (SF63 GZN) in this case an Octavia 1.6TD Elegance Estate which I left with the Skoda dealership in Glasgow when I collected my new PCH car on March 1st. I knew that Skoda were putting it to auction, which I assumed would be locally in Glasgow through BCA. I've just found it just been put up for sale within the last week in of all places Milton Keynes which is quite a distance from Glasgow!

So if anyone is down in that part of the country it is a good car, assuming you can get it for a sensible price, it is just a pity that with that kind of asking price that I couldn't even get one pence trade in value when I was thinking of changing as the Glasgow dealership didn't want it at all!

 

If anyone is vaguely interested in whether any previously owned cars are still on the road, you can have a look at www.cazana.com which even with the free version tells you approx mileage, MOT issues, number of owners etc. In my case the oldest one of my old cars still on the road is a P registered Rover 400 TD, which I was surprised at personally, all the cars after that are still on the road too but diesel engined cars tend to linger longer than petrol engined ones. Cazana even told me that my old car was up for sale and showed a photograph of it which also had the dealership name on there too.

My Octavia is on a Scottish '63' plate as it was a 3 year mobility car, originally from the Isle of Lewis, ended up sold in County Antrim.

 

Was thinking of re-registering on a dateless NI plate, but it is now part of the car's character, strange as that sounds.

 

Tried that Cazuna website to look up the car I traded in, as I haven't seen it listed on the used car sites and I fear it has been scrapped, it doesn't tell a lot - I don't get mileage or MOT issues- just seems to be a front for a fee-paying website.
