mk1 vrs dv valve

Featured Replies

I have a 2005 mk1 vrs with stage 1 custom code n75 racevalve,turbo smart bov,green cotton filter.

my mech says i need to change my bov to a upgraded dv to get better performace,

pls suggest one with links if possible

thanks

you have the standard black dv valve?  most will say this is good enough for stage 1

you can however buy a forge 007p or 008, if you buy second hand buy the service kit from forge,  or compbrake

do not fit the split r types,

Dan, could you elaborate why would you not want to fit the Splitter type?

I have got one on my VRS AUQ engine without a problem so far (1 month). I've been running it below the recommended amount of clicks however, 15ish?

I've recently installed a Collins DV from Ebay (an smaller Essex based company I think) and it works well, also provides that louder noise on gear changing (if thats you bag).

I believe they have been known to not run so well on the mk1

A standard plastic one is fine - the better option too as theres no servicing and potential leaks/issues

To echo the above, the only decent proven replacement is the Forge 007/008 but this is basically just about bling and the ability to change the spring on something very highly tuned.

Unless you are running really big power the standard black one is fine and you don't need to service it every few months either which is a bonus. For the cost of them you can replace them every few years and still have change from your Forge replacement...
