Do I have a cover missing from my air intake? In the attached picture, what I'm referring to is in the bottom right corner, though you can only see about half of it. 

 

This is has been missing for some time, but due to my ignorance of such things, I have only just become aware that a cover might be missing. 

 

If if this is the case, should I be worried?

Here is a clearer picture. I'm a bit anxious about this now, what if dirt/debris has got down there?

The air filter will catch any dirt debris going down the pipe. It may be a bit noisier/quieter without the cover but not dangerous to the engine

I'll order a new cover for it, too. 

So I get the new cover and proceed to snap one of the clips! On the plus side though, I found the old one which just needs a clean. 

 

Stupid question, but how do I secure the cover properly? Presumably the 2 clips go inside then through the slots at the side?

Hard to describe. Sort of over the pipe above where it was and then down onto a large metal part further down. It has an indent probably from the heat there (might be the exhaust manifold).
