Anybody have any ideas as to why my PID randomly turns itself off? plugged in and checked software and says it is up to date

 

Does it charge when connected? Or does it recognise the canbus/car and start to charge when docked in the car? 

Switch on whilst hand held, not plugged in. Check battery icon. Battery not up to the job. A long charge may help. 

Mine would not charge properly the other week then after updating the maps it would not start up properly. I did a factory reset and restored from the the last backup using the Garmin Fresh app and all appears well now.
