Dashboard Rattle

Featured Replies

Its now peeing me off.

Tried doing a search before anyone asks but the rattle I have I can't seem to find any info about.

Right cars done 35K but the rattles been there since day one. But now its getting really loud. It comes from the platic trim above the steering wheel, below dials. If I press down on the plastic it goes away.

Anyone got any fix/ideas.

turn the stereo up ! ;)

I've got the same.

Have you removed the horizontal trim at the bottom of the instrument pod? (a firm pull towards you)

I there are two screws for the intrument pod there - might be worth checking whether they are tight (or undoing them slightly, pushing the instrument pod back into its housing and doing them up again)

The rattle from mine is where the pod touches the dashboard in the bottom left corner.

I'm going to dig some silicon spray out of the shed at the weekend and give it a quick spray on the contact points - that way hopefully it will slide rather than rattle

Anyone got any fix/ideas.

Warranty job? :D

I'm **** at it.

My dial pod rattles too - it is definitely the dial pod rubbing against the trim below it... Intend to cure it with some felt tape.

Just removed that piece of trim. Looks like the right screw is a little loose. Got no hex screwdriver in work so will have to wait till I get home before I can try to fix it.

Thanks for pointing this out it makes me feel much better now I know what the ******* thing is.
