mk 2 boot lights not working

Featured Replies

wonder if anyone can advise me on a issue with my boot lights , ive changed the bulbs, and the diode things on the fittings, and testing with 12v of the car all is well and working fine, plug the into the car no workie lol

boot opening and doors open warning on maxidot is fine, and alarm and central locking working fine also, and led flashes ect after car locked.

the boot lights werent working when i got the car, and its a minor hinderance, but one id like to resolve, no faults with vcds

i also dont get any voltage with a multi meter at the connectors, also all interior lights and the front door open warning lights work also

got me stumped

anyone got any ideas ?

are they on there own fuse?

and if so what location in fuse box as i got no card showing what fuses are what grrrrr

Its more than likely water damage to the plug on the inside of the boot lid that plugs into the lock mechanism. I had the exact same issue bought a new plug fitted it and all was fine.

Have you checked if the connectors got any corrosion on them? Maybe this is not letting the current flow? My connectors where corroded a lot. Cleaning them fixed the issue for me.

Hi guys

im also having this issue. I bought a good set of LED Perf bulbs to replace my rear number plate and my interior bulbs to led. On changing the boot lights we seem to have lost all interior lighting. The ceiling lights front and rear, illumination around the light switch, glove box and boot lights are all out. Any advice greatly appreciated

Boot open/lock mechanism has 2 switches...

one for logic(maxidot,alarm,etc..), and other one for boot lights(this one is faulty).

You have to change it...there is no way to open it or repair.

I have same problem for almost 2 years now :-)

I forgot a PN

well I reckon I'm just gonna leave mine not working, unless I come across a cheap boot lock mechanism at a breakers, also just noticed my glove box light also doesn't work lol

kiko thanks for your reply as your explanation helps, as I do still get the boot open on maxidot.
