Flaps in the AC duct make noise when moving

Featured Replies

I had this issue from the start and finally pinpointed the cause.

There is a noise coming from AC duct when AC switches airflow inside duct. I can reproduce the noise by manually changing direction of airflow using buttons. For example, if i change it from AUTO to windshield or front up blowing, flaps will move to redirect the airflow and this can be heard as grinding noise. As if flaps needed to be lubricated. If AC is set to AUTO, it will change the direction of airflow depending on the temperature in the car and this produces the noise which is quite annoying.

My question is, can I do something about this? Is there a way for me to reach these flaps or do I need to call my dealer to arrange a visit?

Thanks!

If the car is under warranty then let them sort it out would be my recommendation.

Hi, I have the same noise. Its definitely the flaps changing position. I will look at it myself first as i am sorry to say technicians working on the car here is $#*%

Last time had noise from steering and the guy didnt know how to take the airbag off, i showed them how and complaint to the manager so i will only take a look my self and wonder if you ever get it fixed and how?

To me sounds like it needs some grease  or it might be something is putting extra pressure on the control arm, causing friction like steel rod on sponge or foam material .
