Think i need a re-map

Featured Replies

Driving home from my friends house this morning, nice and slow, when a fully ****'d up saxo came screeming up behind me, flowed me through the rest of the 40mph section, then the 50mph, untill we got to about a 1mile long dual carrage way part, where i decided to put my foot down, to my asstonishment, rather than leaving the saxo in my dust, it slowerly passed by me, It went from about 50mph - 90mph much quicker than i did, i was shocked.

Not sure what he was running in it, or maybe just a modded vts, but it was a bloody fast saxo. Dont think it was a rally spec one but i did have white 'rallyish style' wheels, we have a rally on in the area and there are some real nice cars about this weekend.

Bloodly 1.1l saxo flying machines!

Lol Saxo :)

A 1.6 Fiesta Zetec had me metre for metre on a wee stretch of dual carriage way on Thursday, joining said stretch around 40mph, foot to the floor. And it was driven by a girl.

I wept a little...

Trouble is the Saxo's weigh sod all, so have a massive power to weight ratio to their advantage. Find one with 100bhp and its going to be hard for a standard Fabia vRS to keep up,. let alone try to out perform it. Sad to say.

Even I struggle against some of them. :thumbdwn: Nice to always have a go though. ;)

Surely you weren't trying or bothered.

^this is what all the octy boys would be saying.

I had a 100bhp saxo, and I drove the 125 bhp C2 VTS, and the fabia vRS is well faster than both of them without a doubt. was prolly a modded VTS... they can get them upto 170bhp without too much hassle, and weighing about as much as a crisp packet, it would then kick the fabia vRS's ***, much as you describe....

edit: and get a re-map anyway! lol...

Believe it or not last week I was minding my own business when a nissan sunny (the old style with the boot, combi style) 1.4 (what the badge said) decided to wanna play. At the next lights I thought what the heck and went for it, funnily enough off the line there wasn't a whole lot in it, but after we slowed down for a safety camera I left him from 40 upwards which I expected. I couldn't believe it was a 1.4 must have been a sleeper with a big engine conversion or something.

The vrs is hard to launch quickly at times wheras a petrol you can just floor it you need to limit wheel spin on the vrs and only floor it when in 3rd

I reckon its just a little bit of turbo lag - I reckon if you'd been expecting it theres no way he would have had you - with or without remap. If you'd been taking a series of corners quickly and the turbo was spinning youd 'd be leaping out of the corners and on a straight with a change down before he got his run up I reckon he'd have struggled to get past:thumbup:

If there was a series of fast corners, the Saxo would have been well ahead!!!!

Must have been modded. I have had a couple of goes against Saxos without any bother. Redress the balance, remap group buy is on at the moment.
