Older Fabis, check your rear wipers...

Featured Replies

I've just spent about an hour trying to remove my busted rear wiper arm from my Fabia.... :grumpy:

Short story is it was snapped off,and the spring was the only thing holding it in place. After undoing the 13mm nut the base was still very much attached. The rest of the arm fell of in the end, leaving me with a stubby bit....

Damn thing was rusted solid to the spindle. First thing I did was soak it in WD-40, but I tried all kinds of tools to try and lever it off the spindle... With much annoyance and cursing. In the end after a good soak in wd-40 I got my biggest spanner and stuck in the end of the stubby bit leftover and managed to wiggle it free. Boy it was bad. I had to clean up the area pretty well before I refitted.

Now got a tasty Aero wiper on the back. Thanks Andrew :D(Beezerdiesel)

How was it snapped off Jason? (laughs quietly to ones self)

:finger: I snapped it off. :P

Never mind, the aero one looks good. I just did this thread mainly as a "if you've not touched your rear wiper mount for 5 years" warning. :)

No photos up yet? You're slipping.

I'll pop round and have a look next time I b4lls up my ECU!
