Hi all, just joined after listening on radio about The Skoda, Volkswagen etc software updates (Ive got one due said update) and the mixed reactions to it. Hoping for unbiased views by owners themselves !

Hello MikeJK welcome to the Skoda forum :)you don't need to have update done i declined it will still pass a MOT the cheat is not relevant in the UK .

Welcome Mike

I personally can not see why you would want to have it done, nothing to gain and potentially a fair bit to lose.

Hello Jed and Gizmo and thanks for the replies. I have been leaning towards this decision as well, the only problem I could see is when selling eventually I might be at a disadvantage when I admit to this ! There again by then, if the Government has its way, I will be a social outcast anyway for driving a diesel - complete with a nice little 'Unclean' bell hanging around my neck

I enquired at the local dealer a couple of months back if they had any idea when Superbs were due to be recalled and as far as he knew the magic fix for that model hadn't been invented yet so I have plenty of time to mull it over !
