Fabby Vrs - At Last!

Featured Replies

Hi,

As I gather a lot of you fellow fab vrs owners have enjoyed their experience. Picked mine up on Thursday and I was impressed, only one minor issue - trim item missing. But I have enjoyed it since then. One thing I picked up during my scan thru the manual was, how do you fit the towing eye at the front of the vRS in the manual it shows how you take it of for a standard fabby but not so obvious for a vRS?

Cheers,

Rich:)

I'm not 100% sure about the towing eye, i'd expect you have to pull out the fog light surround trim on the o/s/f.

If its anything like the Ibiza one its held in by a small phillips screw. I'll have a look later.

It just pulls off. Found out today as I had to remove it for the rolling road! Very easy to do. Put your fingures into the vent and yank! :)

Does it have a screw-in towing eye or is there already one behind the vent as for the Octavia?

Has a screw in towing eye which is found in the toolkit in the spare wheel. NOTE - The towing eye has a reverse thread, so turn it as if you were removing it to do it up!

I asked because the foam 'packing' in the Octavia's spare wheel well has a cutout for a screw-in towing eye. I assumed that mine had gone missing until I checked the front of the car and found a fixed towing ring behind the front offside vent.
