Service stamps with virtual service logs (indy VAG specialist)

Featured Replies

This doesn't affect me as I'm tied in to a service plan with Skoda but...

I was just wondering; now that you no longer get a service log with your car, how do you go about keeping it updated if you have servicing done at an independent specialist?   Just pop in to a dealer with a service invoice and ask them to update?

Don't think there is any need to keep Skoda informed that is has been serviced elsewhere.

If you choose to use an independent specialist, then then just keep hold of the servicing invoice.

A bit OT...

I see you're in Guisborough; we're moving up there in July.  Can't wait! :)

Just to add:-

Mine was serviced by Skoda dealer at it's first service,

Then serviced by another franchised dealer (Vauxhall) at it's second service.

All were done by the previous owner.

The service "folder" had a copy of the first service by Skoda, but not the second by Vauxhall.

When I bought the car, I requested a copy of the second service invoice, which I got with no questions asked.

I'll be taking the car to an independent VAG specialist when it's servicing time & then keep hold of the invoices again. This is all the proof needed.

OT = Off Topic

We're waiting on a new build up at Galley Hill, at the top end of Stokesley Road.  It should be finished and ready to move in by the end of July.

Yes, know it well.

We're on the Hunters Hill estate, at the top of Enfield Chase. Been in Guis most my life!!

Speaking with my local indie garage (family basically), he was saying that he has access to the Skoda system so not only can he get the actual service requirements but he can then log it on the system.

You use a Independent with the licensed equipment then they have the Software Updates for your vehicle, and gets TPI's and Recall Notices.

Or you keep invoices and receipts for the parts, servicing and maintenance and that might impress anyone buying your car more than a Full Main Dealer Service History which counts for very little in the real world.
