Hi.  I recently purchased a diesel Octavia 4x4 estate which I love.  However the Maxidot display drives me spare.  I have it set to show current speed but as drive along it will start scrolling through the menus and then set itself to average speed or the phone or media.  It seems to be completely random.  Has anyone else had this problem or know what the cause is.

Sounds like a dealer warranty repair to me!

 

Could be a physical problem with the steering buttons themselves - maybe even foreign matter on the board or under the button - or may well just be a general fault with the particular board or controller for the MD system.

Mine used to display mpg since start but that seems to have disappeared. I'll check settings again...

Could be a problem with the steering wheel controls. Certainly shouldn't be doing that without any input from you...

are you accidentally pressing the RH up down button on the steering wheel ?

When this happens my hands are on the steering wheel and no where near the control stalk with the switches.  I do not have any controls on the steering wheel.  For information I drove over a 100 miles today with no problem so based on the suggestions above it would appear to be a fault with the control switches.
