Felicia 1600 radiator

Featured Replies

Can i install radiator 1600 on felicia 1300 1997 ?and how?

Thanks

@Romanyshawky - Since no-one else has answered this, you need the new radiator to have the same flow pattern, hose stub diameter and spacing and mounts in the same places for it to be a direct fit. If the mounts differ but the flow pattern and stubs are the same you'll also need the 1.6 radiator mounts.

Having said which, you have considered that you might finish up with a car that's over-cooled at night?

The 1.6 and 1.9 have both pipes coming off radiator drivers side ie bottom hose and a top hose... the 1.3 rad is smaller and the 1.6 rad is longer not had a 1.3 for a few years

How about telling us why do you want to use a radiator from Felicia 1.6?

To increase size which water flow in to more cooling, because in Egypt climate become very hot in summer.

I  think thermostat would keep water warm in night.

There are Felicia cars made specially for tropical countries by Skoda. They share the same radiator size for 1.3 engines but they have a lower temperature thermostat and a lower temperature radiator fan thermo-contact.

Don't forget one overlooked but mandatory condition for best cooling: the cooling system must be in top working order. This means doing the following:

  • flush the cooling pipes and the radiator both ways to remove any sludge, rust, debris, etc.
  • clean the radiator fins
  • make sure the radiator shroud is installed
  • check there are no obstructions around the radiator
  • no leaks; tight, pressurized system, good cap for the expansion tank
  • use a mix of 40% antifreeze, 60% distilled water, NOT just water!
  • check the thermostat fully opens
