fabia 2003 knock sensor help

Hello everyone
I have purchased a new car, Skoda Fabia 2003 Combi.

I checked sensor connections and found a knock sensor Not connected.
and i found the connectors is cut.

i found this on internet

and i buy new knock sensor,But the sensor has only 2 pin.

What is the use of the black line in the picture?
Is it the ground?

It's the cable screen/shield.

Thank you for your response.
I read about this, (as a shield).
But what do I do with this wire?
Do I make it without a receipt? Or connect it to the ground?
Because, as I said befor, the connector was cut.

Shield/screen should always be grounded. It's to protect the delicate signal from EMI.
