Vibration Noise

Featured Replies

My estate has a sunroof. A small but irritating vibration noise comes from somewhere above the headlining. With a gentle push upwards the noise disappears for a while. I was thinking of spraying some WD40 in the gap between the headlining and sunroof aperture but I'm worried it might cause a stain. Does anyone know of a similar product that might get rid of the vibration without marking the headline area?

Can't help with solution but my hatch with sunroof did the exact same thing.  If you close the mesh screen it went away.  As it was a lease I just lived with it for 3 years.  must be a design/build fault.  good luck fixing it.

If its under warranty take it in for the dealer to sort.

I would not use WD40, it's oily and will stain the fabric if it seeps through

As above reply. When I had sunroofs in VWs, pre air conditioning era, they often made annoying noises in cold weather.

Try silicone spray on the guides.

The least messy way is to apply the spray to a small brush before applying to the sun roof area. If you can't get to the dealers.
