Sub Instalation, Can't find the right thred

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone

I might just be being totally blind but I can't find a thread that gives a definitive answer and I was wondering if you would help or point me in the right direction.

So I'm looking at installing a powered sub in the boot of my Octavia MK3 with the Amundsen head unit. The only real struggle I'm having is where on the head unit to spice to fit the RCA converter. I understand the speaker wires come from the unit in the glove box, does anybody have an idea of what lines would be the best to connect to and is there anywhere for me to connect the power remote wire?

Traditionally the switched live would pick up off the switched live for the radio and you could pick up a signal from any speaker wire providing the amp has that feature...

Your main live should come direct from batery or the bus bar on the distribution box and the earth as short as possible...

The OE radios don't have a switched live only a permanent live, and they switch on/off using CAN bus messages.

Ive removed my oe and fitted my bluetooth sony songle din..

My amp is off an ign live ..

Any luck with this @SWBoy

I'm not changing anything, I was just pointing out that there isn't a switched live feed to the OE radios.
