ECP Service Time

Featured Replies

With ECP having the usual 33% off again, doing a buy of service goods.

Filters all mann (air oil fuel) but which ones for Spark Plugs?

Pop into the Dealer (or VW since both near) for oil or stick with the ECP deal?

And might as well do the Coolant Temperature Switch (GSF) but thats showing two different ones. PART NO : 929VG0170 and PART NO : 929VG0173 so which one?

NGK 6458 PFR6Q for the plugs.

For the oil look for Quantum on eBay. 5W-30 longlife or 5W-40 fixed interval. Otherwise the Shell Helix stuff is normally pretty good value.

As for the CTS - people on here have reported problems with non-genuine ones so beware of that.

Don't forget the pollen filter too if that hasn't been changed in a while ;)

Try TPS if you have one local as they did Quantum longlife cheaper than I could find on E-bay.

The link below is quite useful for recommended plugs and their heat ranges.  Standard plugs can have a few options depending on material type.  Direct OEM replacements are what vrsTOM recommended

Recommended Plugs in this Heat Range:
- NGK BKR6E (Copper)
- NGK BKR6EIX (Iridium Version of the same plug above)
- Denso K20R (Copper)
- Denso IK20 (Iridium Version of the same plug above)
- NGK PFR6Q (OEM Platinum) - If you're planning to stick with stock boost
