You learn something new everyday. What does the badge look like.

Lauren & Klement in spidery handwriting type thing

like this:

laurin_klement_logo_200.gif

but is on an oval badge and not in red!

From Wikipedia:

Laurin & Klement (1895-1925) was a bicycle, motorcycle and automobile manufacturer in Mladá Boleslav, Bohemia, then Austria-Hungary. The company was founded in 1895 was named after founders: Václav Laurin (born September 27, 1865, died December 4, 1930) and Václav Klement (born October 16, 1868, died August 13, 1938). Car production commenced in 1905 and the company soon became the largest car manufacturer in Austria-Hungary. In 1925 the company was acquired by Škoda Works and operated henceforth under the brand Škoda.

Finally, I've learned my "new thing" for the day, with only 4 hours of it remaining.

I'm glad, we do try to provide a good public service here at Briskoda ;)

I remember looking it up when I first started looking at a Skoda purchase - seemed a slightly odd name for a spec level

Pity they don't do a vRS L&K Furby really, altough with enough Briskoda-inspired mods, you end up with one anyway :D

Xenons are'nt standard on the L&K. Also, cruise control is standard on the elegance too. The L&K also gets electric seats, light assist, maxidot & Multi func steering wheel as standard although you can spec all that on the Elegance. I don't think chrome alloys is an option though.

You don't get an external badge - just nice stainless inserts on the internal door sils.

ya dont get elec seats as standard!!! as mine hasnt got them

They do an 'Edition 100' Fabia in Europe with the 1.4 16v 100BHP engine or the 1.9TDI 100BHP. It's black, RS bodykit and nice 16" alloys :)

Shame they only brought the Superb Edition 100 to the UK, the Octavia and Fabia probably would have sold better.

the other spec refered to a mk1 octy which did get xenons and chrome wheels.

You do if the one I saw when ordering ours is typical - and really naff the chromed plastic stick-on was too! I'l consider taking ours off when it arrives....

You do as of today's L&K spec - the driver's seat has lots of motors (including the lumbar support!) and memory settings for three drivers. Have you looked down the right-hand side to see if youve got a lot of little buttons......?

Octy II L&K's have always had standard electric seats as far as i'm aware. Is yours the old shape Octy by any chance? That would explain it.

  • 1 year later...

Skoda bring out a new brochure every three months and the spec of the L and K seems to change each time.

Current (well, recent from Feb) L&K Octy 2 includes:-

leather or leather/alacantra seats, with embossed L&K logo

elec memory seats

Xenons

Light assist

rain assist

17" shiney, but not fully chrome wheels

net thingy in boot

6cd mp3 player (stream?)

nice new style exterior 1/4 badges, L&K logo.

chrome twin exhaust

front steel logo'd door strips

glowey lit interior door handles (really cool!)

hill assist brake function (holds foot brake on for 2 secs on steep hills. Very useful)

I have probably missed the odd function, but this is for a UK spec L&K, delivered April 07.

Phil

Great thing about new L&K is the memory for the electric seats can be set in the key fob. One for me and one for the better half, didn't know about it when ordering but is a great feature.

Just ordered a L&K DSG Estate today to replace a 150bhp FSI Elegance. The equipment levels are confusing because of the change over from 2007 to 2008 models. Apparently there are still some 2007 models available. Phil's list is almost complete but for the following:

L&K Floor mats and gearknob

Audience radio (Whatever that is!)

Curtain air bags

ESP

Multi function steering wheel (not sure what the functions are as cruise control is still on a stalk)

Piano varnish decor!?

Tinted glass for door mirrors

One annoyance though - it comes with a space saver spare whereas the Elegance had a proper alloy spare.

yep, forgot those bits. The audience is the 6 cd in dash changer, that reads 6 mp3 discs.

For "piano Varnish" read shiney black.

Steering wheel controls radio only on mine, and cruise is on the stalk.

The door mirrors react with the auto dimming rear view mirror, and is a very good feature!

Didn't know there was a change in spec to 08, but cars built before about feb 07 were essentially well spec'd elegances, with badges stuck to the outside. Nice still, but there are a few features that you could not order.

Phil

Ditch the L&K gear kn()b from the list, it comes with a standard chrome one.

The latest L&K doesn't have dimming mirrors either, just blue tinted ones, they dropped them when they tinkered with the spec. the passenger mirror does however drop down in reverse so you can see your wheels when kerbing them

The wheel isn't a space saver as such, not like the bicycle tyres you get on some cars these days, it is in fact a 205/55/R16 steel spare, it's this size because 205 is the widest the spare wheel well can accommodate. Still smaller but not what I class as a space saver.

The stereo/climatronic surround does not feature the piano black decor but plain black plastic which IMO is rubbish.

I ordered my company car in April with sunset privacy glass to ensure a factory order so I didn't get an earlier version of the L&K with less goodies on it
