I have recently bought a fabia 1.4 and the engine shaped warning light has come on. can anyone tell me what this means? is it safe to still drive the car? as it drives and sound fine...any help would be appreciated Many thanks

The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) Has logged an error, it may have been caused by a faulty sensor, but sometimes the code can simply be cleared. You can take the car to your dealer, or someone with the appropriate tools and take a look at what the error is. As for driving with it on, my relatives drove their Fabia with it on for about 6 months, but It was an Air conditioning sensor so did not affect the car at all, but I Dont know if there are sensors which need to be checked immediatley.

a few weeks after i bought my 1.4 ,my came engine management light came on.after 4-5 weeks off going back to the dealer they found it was an exhaust sensor which needed replacing.

its ok to drive but get to the garage where you bought asap so you can get work done under the warrenty.

As I understand it. that light covers many things so you'd need to find out what's caused it IMO.

Perhaps check all levels soonest anyway - oil, coolant, washer fluid etc, all lights, plus the battery especially if usually doing short journeys.
