This is a link to a feral copy of the official (early) Fabia wiring diagrams.

If you download it and then do a ctrl-F search for TRW, you'll get to the relevant pages after a few 'nexts'

Yes, I think it does.

I haven't tried it myself (yet), but see here:

managed to take cover off and lots off corrosion in there .

cant see how to get pcb out without damaging it so looking for a second hand pump .trouble is the sticker is missing .

am guessing its a  6Q0 423 156 AB ?

and these seem to also fit a polo and good chance it has correct code or it can be re-coded . if not

code is 10110 if i remember right

Photos?

I think as long as what you buy is a TRW one, and not from an older car than yours, it should be OK. Not sure on coding, think it only varies the assistance level?

just ordered one off same car but 2005 . so it should be fine ... can check and change code if needed anyway .

Sorry I deleted it because on reflection I thought a 2005 car wouldn't have the foam jacket. Seems I was wrong :)

Ah, I must be getting old. haha.

You should be able to refit it without the foam jacket. That just seems to be a water trap that kills the pump. Did the wife's probably a couple of years ago. Codes also indicated no measurement from sensor, but it was the failed pump not reading or processing the signal from the sensor. Wasted expense on sensor and pump was much cheaper.

yep still waiting on pump . would have changed it first but wasn't sure if sensor needed reference voltage or if it worked a bit like  a radio being a variable capacitor type sensor . anyway new sensor has a much higher static capacitance so might have also been bad anyway . or worse case new one is no good . hope not as had to cut and extend cable . i did a proper job anyway as my other job is repairing electronic things . all soldered and shrink wrapped. cant wait for pump to arrive it was only marked as sent today . other customers now screaming at me . only room for one car at a time here unless weather is good . foam jacket is staying off for sure . its in bits on the floor .

result at last .

new pump arrived and it all now works . light goes off after a few seconds . i measured resistances of new pump where sensor plugs in and nothing less than 5k ohms .

will test voltages in the morning just out of curiosity .

Nice one! :)

voltages at sensor plug on pump engine running both 13v

engine off 1.62v and 11v .

mot test at 3pm today so hoping it goes right through .
