Workshop/service manual 2014 YETI 1.6 dsg?

Featured Replies

Hello, having purchased 2 online 'manuals' neither of which I can get to work, does anyone know how I can get hold of a guide for routine maintenance?  I'm not talking about the Owner Manual which contains zero info about what happens under the bonnet....any help appreciated

Hi Phil

Like you, I like to know how my car works.

I've always carried out my own maintenance and repairs, and once the warranty expires on our new Drive model, I will almost certainly do so again.

I reckon your best bet at the moment, is to ask owners. As far as I can see so far, the guys on these forums are a knowledgeable bunch and helpful to a fault.

I don't know if there are any genuine SKODA repair manuals....... Does anyone else know?

I've bought  so called repair manuals and workshop manuals from Fleabay, usually on discs in the past, ripped (off) from some obscure site, they invariably have copyright, language, access or other issues, and aren't much use, and that's  if they work at all. I had a parts manual for my last imported car....in Russian!

That said, I'm sure that you could build up a pretty good manual yourself simply by going through related posts and keeping the info for another time. And of course, there's always Youtube and Google.

You sure ain't going to find a Haynes for a 2016 model. But even Haynes manuals aren't  anything like as good as they used to be.  :)

The official ones are available from erwin.skoda-auto.cz

You pay for an amount of time, starting at €7 + tax for an hour. You can also use "print to pdf" or similar functions to save all the information for later use :)

That's handy to know. Thanks. :)

Make sure that you select the English version!

Hi anyone used the Erwin manual.

I registered on their website. It says that you can download to print. I would not want to download to print as printer far to slow, can you down load to hard drive.
can’t find any option on their website to ask them the question.

Hi, if you have the option on your pc you should be able to select print to pdf instead.

I bought and downloaded the Yeti workshop manual from here:

 Skoda Archives - easymanuals.co.uk

Works 100%, linked PDF etc - no timing out once it's saved to your PC, not sure I'd want to pay by the hour....

Thanks aerofurb, I am not a mechanic, just an enthusiastic amateur. Is this an easy to understand but comprehensive manual.

It is the official Skoda workshop manual that dealers use (unless someone can tell me differently). Whether or not it is the latest edition, I can't confirm but it works for me.

There is everything you need to know in there with words and clear diagrams. Some basic stuff comes under the maintenance section and then the non-standard maintenance items are in the other specific sections.

it also lists what maintenance items are due when - funny how dealers (perhaps led astray by Skoda UK...) apply there own maintenance/replacement periods to quite a few items. I always assumed, the dealers went by the workshop manual and the car's service history. Apparently not!

Many thanks, I will give it a try.

If you're on the ball you can download much pretty much everything you need from Erwin within a 1 hour window.

I got all the service manuals, self-study guides, wiring info etc etc for both my Yeti and our Superb in a single one-hour session.

There's loads of stuff on ErWin. I seem to recall registering first, having a scout round to understand how the site works, then paying for an hour's access.

Then starting as many things downloading in parallel as possible!
