What to do with Bluetooth module now dont have rSAP

Featured Replies

I've upgraded my mobile to a OnePlus 3T as my wife is having my LG G4 due to her killing hers! I have a 3C8 E module with rSAP and WiFi, which I used with my G4 in rSAP mode and WiFi for the kids.

The OP3T doesn't seem to support rSAP (although it does try to connect ) and so only using HFP mode only.

Seems a waste to keep the higher grade module as I'm not using the features. Or do I wait and see if they'll support rSAP proper at some point?

If I was to sell the module and go for a HFP only module, which is the one to go for? I'm guessing I could make some money back to offset the phone cost.

I think the most obvious non-premium module is probably 7P6035730J or newer. Just be warned, it doesn't play well with some (Delphi?) Bolero units and shows a corrupted phonebook.

Personally, I'd stick with the 3C8 E unless you find an bargain non-premium BT module to replace it with.

Thanks @langers2k. Helpful as always. Shame the HFP doesn't do SMS as well (like a Mazda hire car I had and could reply via BT).

I'll have a look around
