Furby probs

Featured Replies

I'm keeping a low profile at the mo, the wifes Fabia is playing up. :(

Last Wednesday, she took it back to the dealer because the steering wheel centre had poped out (air bag and cover), "no problem" they said and smartly bashed it back in place.

Last Friday, whilst driving along the horn sounded once, a bit further along it did it again and then suddenly it stayed on continuously. Red faced she pulled over and turned the ignition off waited a while then turned it on again, still the same. After about half an hour the AA turned up ownly to find no fault, wifey drives home.

Today, once again the horn starts up but this time it's intermittent. My wife describes the fault as a car with Tourette's syndrome.

Just wondering where we stand with an intermittent fault if the dealer can't find one as in this case.

proberbly caused by them bashing in the wheel centre section.

Sounds like the switch is playing up, get it fixed under warranty. in the meantime find out if anything else is powered by the same fuse and remove it. but remember that it wont work when you need it to.

Fuse no.40 (seperate fuse for the horn)

if thats any help!

Should be covered by the warranty. Especially as they seem to have caused the problem in the first place by smashing it back in place!

Probably wants the airbig taking off and the horn connections refitting.

Trip down to the dealer today revealed just that, mind you it take them 2 hours to carry out the work. Still all back to normal now.

Thanks for your help guys.

It took K around 2 minutes to remove the steering wheel airbag on my car! I reckon he could have done that job for you in the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, Des.
