Hello all, thinking about buying the car in the title, it's done 69k and has 12 months warranty from a Toyota main dealer, now I currently drive short trips to work during the week but weekends 40 mile trips, my annual mileage probably doesn't warrant a diesel but I like the way they drive plus their economy, the price of the car is also good, now if I do the weekend trips will the DPF be happy with that? it is mostly A/B road, mostly 40,50 and 60mph with some light town mixed up, through the week I drive mainly town to work.

Hi, from what I've on here, and there plenty of info via the search facility, the CR diesels were designed to work with a dpf from the get go, I'm not 100% sure but I believe there is a way to interrogate the dpf to find out its condition, way be worth h a search ? It has been said on here before that even with your weekend journeys you may have give the car a bit of beans in third or fourth at around 3000rpm for a few miles every week or so to get the engine hot enough to burn off the crap.....

Yeah I have an app on my phone that will tell me the DPF heat etc so I can try keep on top of that and with the 12 month warranty which apparently covers DPF/EGR etc I SHOULD be ok, I will be doing long trips eventually to Wales (150 mile trips)

Hi, again

don't know if it's relevant but there are reports on here saying the 1.6 CR is, how do I put it, at best rather agricultural maybe you ought to drive one and then the 2.0 CR back to back if possible ( from what I've read don't dismiss the 1.4tsi out of the equation)

good luck, this is the best place for warts and all advice ....
