EA 189 NOx update for diesel VRS CR170

Featured Replies

I bought a diesel VRS CR170 Octavia Estate a few weeks ago and received a letter from Skoda about the an EA 189 NOx update. I remember seeing on here (can't find the thread) that some people have experienced a dip in mpg/performance after the update despite the letter saying that performance/torque/fuel consumption noise etc won't be impacted. Has anyone had any issues with this update?

Thanks in advance

Independent tests have shown dips in MPG and an increase in other pollutants. Plenty of people have also reported with a lack of torque and EGR issues shortly after the fix.

Personally, I'd avoid it as there is no legal reason to have it done.

There are Government warning on dodgy dealers to be found in cities and towns everywhere & those in international organised criminal activities, you never know what you are getting.

So same applies with VW Group.
