Just bought a vrs 2.0 tfsi

Featured Replies

Hi my name is alex and Just bought a vrs 2.0 tfsi really like the car had a a4 b5 before and thought would stick with the vag world. It's an 07 plate with 70,000 miles so happy:tongueout:. Has one little problem the dealer is going to be fixing. It revs up on idle and drops and keeps like that when warm. :wondering: any help would be appreciated cost it's got me confused.

Hello Alex welcome to the Skoda forum good to have you with us :hi: 70,000 mile's just run in mite be the throttle body  or MAF Mass Air Flow Metre .

Don't laugh.... Check the dipstick is fully home. I collected mine from a service at a dealer and it hunted, revs rose when stationary. Took it back to the dealer and felt rather foolish when they admitted the dipstick was sitting about 1-2cm proud and letting air into the engine.

OK will ask him to check as it went back yesterday but want it checked out. Didn't see the dipstick high had air bubbles coming from the pool of oil in a bolt hole next to the timing belt

Welcome, get some pics up when you can.

Just has the dealer on the phone. Said mechanic came out Saturday and recons it's the vacuum pump. Was pretty sure petrol cars don't have vacuum pumps as they run on vacuum when not on boost. Would this cause rough and rising idle til on boost. Thanks in advance

Could it not be a dirty sensor/idle control valve?
