VRS MK1 Rear callipers worth anything?

Featured Replies

I have replaced the rear calipers on my vrs and the old ones are gathering dust. Based on the price of new ones, are second hand ones worth anything? Drivers side was a bit sticky on the handbrake mech, passenger side was the same an then the spring for the handbrake mech fell off. I thought sod i and fitted new ones with new discs and pads. Presume the old ones are suitible for refurb. I think they wound back fine when I stripped the wheels off a few months ago. Can check that on the bench anyhow.

think they are a popular upgrade for other mk4/fabia based cars

sell them on for someone to refurb

£50 sound a fair asking price for the pair? Forgot about the VAG upgrade route

I replaced mine recently, one was sticking and the other was silver, I'm a bit anal and just replaced the pair of them. Put them on local VAG site and got £30 for them almost instantly...................made me wonder should I have asked more! The surcharge on new calipers normally around £20 each

I Have replaced them with silver, I would have preferred green but the fronts are silver (only ones i could get same day) so they all match now and green paint isn't expensive and my time is free.

I'll punt them on the bay, and see how they go, I tried winding them back today, didn't want to know. See if I can recoupe some of my replacement costs, fronts went back for the surcharge.

Cheers
