Yellow furby VRS Should I ??

Featured Replies

i have a yellow one and when its clean it looks stunning, and i have no problems finding my car in a car park as it stands out a mile

Wanted a Sahara Beige one really - But uncle Skoda won't do the VRS in an understated colour :thumbdwn:

So I was about to put in an order for a silver one and my dealer offered me a black demo with extras and a discount - which made it worthwile.

But yellow is getting more popular. It's also IIRC non metalic (unlike black and silver) so easier to repair scratches.

Go for it - it is IMHO a good deal.

Hmm, I'm in the market for a VRS the same as you!...This Yellow one wouldnt be the one @ All Electric Skoda would it???;) ....After seeing the Yellow in the metal it's definately not for me:thumbdwn: .....and my missus said she doesnt like the yellow either...lets face it they are ALWAYS right! so im only looking @ Red or Black now!..good price though not sure how well it'd fare as a longterm ownership prospect though!

Thats what I was wondering, if it was the one @ All Electric Skoda. I drive past it most days on the my way to SWMBO, I have pointed it out to and she thinks that the Black or Silver colours have the edge. I have a Black one and love it.:mw:

I would have thought that it would be obvious. The mere fact that the Stealer is having to drop the price to sell it to you would indicate that when you want to sell it back to the dealer as a PX, you will be met with the same dilemma.

I have just brought a brand new 06 vrs and the dealer said to me that the only colour people want is BLACK.

Remember you are buying it second hand and therefore the dealer is already taking the hit for the colour being hard to shift, so when you come to get rid of it although it will perhaps sell less than a black or silver you will have paid a good chunk less in the first place so it will balance out.

As for the colour there are drawbacks to them all. Red looks dull (being none metallic) kinda a safe Leon colour, Black shows up the scratches easily, Silver gets mucky in a matter of seconds and so needs constant cleaning.

I went for silver because I thought it might hide the dirt better but unfortunately it doesn't hide black diesel soot very well so I now want a black one instead, does this detract in anyway my enjoyment of the car? No, I stick my foot down and I couldn't give a stuff, a blurr is a blurr not matter what colour :)

I think the car looks great no matter what the colour, missed out on a cheap yellow one myself would have bought it purely because I was so keen on getting a vrs! The only thing I would say with a yellow one with the older rear lights is that they don't look as good as the newer ones. You will probably be hit a bit with the resale value but with the saving you will be getting you could probably afford to respray it if it bothered you that much!

All cars show the dirt a lot, the paint is pretty thin and get's damaged rather a lot too easy compared to even my older cars I've owned - and they did NOT get treated nicely, that was car-wash only, as and when shamed into it :P

I've got several chips in the paintwork, mostly at the front, a chip in my windscreen (due to a Merc doing some off-roading in the fast lane in front of me, annoyingly I had kept my distance otherwise it would have not hit my window  ).

It's a royal PITB to keep cars clean at this time of year, I try to run it through a pressure washer-session at least once a week now to stop the worst from building up too much.

Hi Adam.

I think

well the decision has been made for me! and I have to wait till November as my other half and mates all taking the pi** and cant have that. I am gonna get a black one instead but cant afford one as of yet due to my wedding in August (although did say could rearrange but mrs not too happy lol) oh well it wouldnt be so bad but i really want one and patients is not one of my virtues untill then have to make do with the petrol guzzling 2.2 coupe (BIG SIGH). Thanx for chatting must say very friendly site compared to others I use and hopefully be back on before november as an owner untill then enjoy, you luck ******** lol

I don't disagree with you regarding the monetary considerations having balanced out - but the basic fact remains - many people won't even consider a yellow car so won't even include it as a possible buy in the first place! The makes any potential resale a problem. That possibly also applies in a small way to a black one though black metallic is apparently a very desirable colour at present.

I think it's a real pity that Skoda don't offer the vRS in a wider colour range - I think a rich dark metallic red, green or blue would go down well with those people wanting a great performance car with a touch of class...

I love my yellow furby vrs.

I have got a red one, and wish i had a black one, then i wish i had a silver one. I don't think it really matters, a vrs in any colour looks awesome. By the way yellow is supposed to be the new red, apparently the fire brigade are gonna have yellow fire engines.......... so they say
