Hooray! MOT'd by taping over DRLs! Still gave me an advisory about something on light lens but not affecting light output.

Panic over. I'll go see gizmo at his convenience and get it changed - didn't really like the setup anyway. Either go for std or turn off DRL completely while indicating.

Thanks everyone.

Glad you got it sorted, i live in Rainham as well.

The OP is in the UK. I don't see the point of German or Belgian lighting regulations unless I'mmissing something.

As we are still in the EU those regulations supersede/supplement the (out of date) UK Vehicle Lighting Regulations (since anything that is legal in one EU country MUST be accepted as legal in all other EU countries).

The DRLs on the O3 conform to the German regulations, but the DRLs on my brother's Vauxhall Zafira conform to the Belgian regulations - and both are legal in the UK...

That depends on how the Government of the time write the Bill that will transfer legal control back to the UK parliament. The last statement (prior to the election) was that ALL EU laws would initially be made part of UK law, and over time the unacceptable laws would be individually "repealed". So your plan might be flawed...
