Mode Button does not work

Featured Replies

Hello

New aound these parts.  Just picked up an ex Demo L&K diesel.

Car is only 3500km young and has a fault that when you try and push the mode button to change to sport etc, it flashes orange and nothing happens on display.  Can't find the mode option via the display when poking around in car settings.

I suspect I know the answer which is reset/recode some firmware or something via the dealer.  Booked in but have to wait a few weeks for space.

Dealer visit or anything simple?

By the way I had a factory fitted towbar added via the dealer.  It was allready towbar ready apprently.  I have read a few people who needed things recoded after fitting an aftemarket part.  This is the factoy option however.

Thanks

Honest answer is 'I don't know', and I suspect that's why you've had no replies thus far. Regardless of the cause that's definitely not right. Your dealer will sort it one way or the other, under warranty, so don't worry too much. Also, obligatory 'It's a diesel so why do you need a 'sport' button?' post. :tongueout::D

I have had the issue - i documented it here -

After an overnight sleep... it starts working again.

Mines never worked.  Will try a reset with power for 30 seconds and see if that helps.

You're not missing much!

Exactly what is "Sport" mode for the aircon anyway?

Aircon only has Eco and Normal

Had the same on mine a few times now.  The system gets into a tizzy on boot up and (as above) an overnight snooze, or working day length break seems to sort the problem.  My Dealer has not been able to find any trace in the error logs either.  Seems to be like the Ad Blue system faults.  It just happens but there is no trace of why!  Car electronics are too complex now and often well beyond Dealer capability to work out unless it actually happens when they are looking at the car and have diagnostics plugged in.

Error trapping on software is really challenging to do unfortunately, especially across multiple modules and integrated systems.
