Air Bag Yellow Warning Light

Featured Replies

Had airbag warning light come on at start up and stay on.  Going to dealer on Monday. Has anyone had this issue and what was required to resolve

It is designed to come on when the ignition is turned on then it should go out a few seconds later (this tells you the system is working OK).

If it is staying on then there is a fault somewhere and needs either a dealer or VCDS to diagnose the fault and turn the light off.

Thanks .  Light is staying on and  is booked in to go to dealer.  Was wondering if anyone had a similar issue and what was the cause/resolution

It could be anything related to the SRS system. Loose wire, faulty air bag, faulty sensor, faulty control module, someone disconnected something while working on another part of the car and generated the fault. Impossible to guess really, so needs connecting (as said) to either VCDS or the dealers software for diagnosis.

**Update *** fault passenger side sensor .  Hopefully isolated issue .  Seems its a not a simple job to replace .  Hope no issues in the seat going forward

Sensor is in the door (or B pillar), not the seat as far as I'm aware.
