Hi all,

My recently acquired Roomster 1.2 DSG (2104 model) came with no service book because the main dealers do it all electronically apparently. But I go to an independent (plus some DIY) so I need to acquire a service schedule for this car. Any ideas where to get this will be appreciated. Perhaps someone has a scan or web copy?

Ask dealer for a paper copy?  They seemed to have spares of the radio info booklet when I needed one, so might have a spare service schedule booklet for you???

Servicing Schedule Guidelines would be just as other VW Group Petrols, diesels if on fixed servicing.

 

Oil / Filter 9,400 miles / 372 days.

Pollen Filter each 2 years, 

Air Filter maybe, at 2,3 or 4 years they make it up.

Brake Fluid Change at 3 years then each 2.  That gets made up as they like.

A/C service each 2 Years. (up selling.)

 

Tell the customer the Brakes have Corrosion / Wear / 80% worn anytime you want an Upsell.

 

Spark Plugs maybe at 40,000 miles maybe not.

Lifetime Fuel Filter, maybe change at 4 years maybe never.

Timing Chain but confuse the Customer and Call or write and say the Water Pump / Cam Belt change is due.

 

This is not Variable Servicing, just Skoda Main Dealer common practice as in 'who knows but make it up as you go along'.

 

Wash & Vacuum is Free.

Paint & Corrosion Warranty requires an Annual Inspection and report and that gets done at Main Dealer Servicing, so Important.

There's a "WANTED" section (brown header and margins) near the bottom of the forum, open to all users, post up a request, see what you get offered......

Best check with Skoda UK Customer services if your DQ200 DSG is one that should be going in for Service Campaign '34H5', a Software Update done free.

Thanks all. I've established that the car has had 34H5, although I don't know whatr that is! Will follow up the other suggestions.

Ask when it had 34H5 then, normally it would be when getting serviced but maybe just done because it was at a Skoda Dealership the Service Campaign started late last year.

Is it a Skoda Approved Used car you bought or even from a Skoda Dealership?

It's a January 2014 car bought from a Skoda dealer so it has an approved warranty. I managed to get a print out of the service history and that shows the 34H5 (whatever that is) but somehow they couldn't seem to find a service schedule that they could let me have. Odd.

34H5 has been introduced because of failures in DQ200 DSG since the Factory change from Synthetic Oil to Mineral oil and pressure issues and broken DSG's.

 

Best keep up your 12 month Warranty you have now with Skoda Approved Used by following the Service Schedule / Guidelines required.

VAT Registered establishments and OEM parts does that, 

but unless the Body Inspection is carried out your corrosion warranty is not valid in the future. 

 

(Maybe worth buying a year Skoda Warranty when the current one expires, but then that requires the Servicing to Schedule / Guidelines, 

so ask the Dealership to print out what that actually is...)

 

Good Independent VW Specialist with licensed diagnostic equipment get the TPI's and updates etc and should know what the Service Schedules are, or just use your place you trust and your DIY as there is not that much required in the next few years.

The DSG issue needs watching though because even though there are no Servicing Requirements you need to watch what happens with the DQ200's from 2013 on just in case more issues arise.

(2009-2012/13 The world wide recall / European Service Campaign 34F7 was to change to mineral oil and a software update and people thought sorted, 'Vorsprung durch technik' and that jazz,

then another fundamental design or manufacturing / software fault started to become known.)

Not sure if this applies to my Roomster or not ?

I just checked with Skoda Customer Service and they say my 2013 TSi DSG is not on the list for '34H5' - Is this because some need the update and some don't ?

Yes,

only some DQ200 DSG from 2013-2015 need '34H5',   but they can be in different vehicles, Fabia, Roomster, Rapid, Octavia or Yeti.
