Hi Skoda owners, be gentle with me, I am about to plunge into the world of Skoda ownership. Now there is a phrase I thought I would never say! However,after reading about the new Octy VRS (picking up the slang already!) road test in What Car the other month, I just knew it was the car for me. After finally getting the chance to buy my first ever new car at the age of 36, I wanted something sporty but practical. I had whittled it down to the Skoda, a Mondeo ST TDCi or a Seat Leon FR 150 (old shape). The Seat was ruled out for being too small and erm, well I never even got to trying the Ford! So that just left the mighty Octavia VRS. Ordered it today, for delivery in mid March, and I can hardly wait.

Telling my work colleagues that I was buying a Skoda got a mixed response, which I am sure all you guys have heard before. One guy said "Oh yeah they're really good them" so I said "You like Skodas then?" to which he replied "Yeah, I always choose them for my PS2 driving game"!!!

Still I dont really care what they think, I know that I have made the right choice. Found this website from a link from honestjohn.co.uk and thought I would become a member, anyway hello to you all!

Hi there, well i test drove the black model, but reckoned on going for the blue. Then changed my mind and went for black, but the day before the order went in, i changed back to the blue again! Salesman put me off the black by saying it would be a bitch to keep clean. What about yourself?

Hi mate, thanks for the welcome, checked out your Octy pic...sweet, I've also gone for 18" alloys as well, thought the 17" just looked a tad small on it. When did you get yours, did you get a discount? I managed to get a grand off list price, thought that was pretty good considering how new and scarce it is.
