Local servic recommendations

Featured Replies

I could do myself to great satisfaction ( being more of a car enthuisiast and like to see things done right) but as the cars recently 3 years old its still worth a bit, no point missing the servicing stamps.

Car is due probably major service, but I'm not paying Skoda to do a major service, when I've already had to replace plugs myself as they were not able to change them in the first 50k / 3 years I'm not paying them again for somethign they won't do.

Interestingly have some options closer to home (otherwise have to go Northampton Skoda where i work) but don't want to be bullied by Skoda into a full service and would rather haggle with a independant confirming that they don't need to do the plugs again unnecssarily ( which aren't cheap )

NEW? Skoda Kettering ( Progress Suzuki ). Must be a new enterprise ( used cars apparently not sure if they service).

May be others - do you know of any others you'd recommend, or not for the newer mk3 platform ?

Of these I have experience of MJP who seem pretty decent, not sure they have had many mk3's or newer Golfs through their doors though until I ask them. Any one recommend any of the above for a basic service stamp and checks ?

Though to be fair I checked and it was like 48,900 miles at last year it was serviced and not yet even on 50,900 so not that urgently in need of service is it - 2k miles :D

I used  to live in East Northants and used these guys in Wellingborough:  http://dgmotorservices.co.uk/blog/

Vag specialists but can't comment on the Octy Mk3 (I had a Mk1 Fabia 1.9tdi at the time).   Found them competent and friendly, prices probably typical of a good indy.

I use unit 18 http://www.unit18.co.uk/ In Milton Keynes & I travel from London, always first class care & workmanship received on my vRS Mk3 petrol from them, Alister will look after you, a very skilled technician & I'm due a oil change in October/November so will be going back to unit 18 B) Highly rated

UNIT18

That is all.
