BT Setup

Featured Replies

I just got my hands on my Skoda Yeti 1.2 TSI SE 2014 model with the Bolero radio. The manual says to enter Setup and select Setup Telephone to start pairing phone.

However all I get is a greyed out Update Telephone Book And greyed out Speed Dial. I Carriet out a Factory Reset but this hasn't helped.

Any help would be appreciated

Does it have a Bluetooth module fitted - not a part of the Bolero afaik?

Hi Steve,

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I think there is a BT module as when I asked the iPhone to look for a new Bluetooth device, it came up with VW radio and a code number. However I had no idea where to put this number.

However I don't pick up any devices when I carry out a Bluetooth search any longer

Hi Steve,

I should have asked is there anyway of checking if the Bluetooth module is fitted? Is Bluetooth an option and not a standard fit

Try looking under the Drivers seat, there should be a black box under the seat, on the floor  ( thats if it's the same as an Octavia MKIII )

Hi Auric,

thanks for your reply. It seems I have taken for granted that Skoda fitted a radio that can support Bluetooth. Put controls on the steering wheel, however the Bluetooth module is an optional extra & speaking to Skoda's parts department will cost me £600+ plus fitting.

Not a happy start to life as a Skoda user. Now to find a cheap solution to my problem

Regards

Hi guys,

Update on my Bluetooth situation. I have a Bluetooth module under the drivers seat, see attached image, thanks Auric for pointing this out. I also see VW radio show up on my iPhone when searching for Bluetooth device, see attached image. However as you can see there is a code that should be shown on the Radio, but I cannot see this under setup phone or when I select the phone as a source on the radio. Under Media the BT button is greyed out. I select to pair and the pairing fails, any ideas anyone?

Have you tried pairing the phone by starting with the steering wheel buttons and the Maxidot display?

@Roydj64 As Rustynuts has said the code will appear in your Maxidot display in the center of your dash not your radio.

It will show you a message similar to what is on your phone with the same code, you accept this by clicking your Ok button on your steering wheel or stalk.

Hii Rustybuts & Dave3283,

thanks for this information I will try this & respond back to this post. Why is this process so difficult? My old car had an aftermarket Pioneer fitted 5 years ago & like other systems & other cars I've hired, the process in either on the radio or on the phone.

Also why is this information not in the radio manual.

Thanks for your replies to this post
