Hi all,

     I'm Andy, new to skodas after a Honda Accord, Ford Focus, Audi A4, Audi Ur Quattro, Range Rover classic and most recently a discovery TD5...

 

ive been working abroad for a few years and I'm relocating to the Uk in the coming weeks, I'm origionally from N. Wales but will be moving to Aberdeen.

 

Ive been looking for a nice but sensible family car and have settled that I need a MK 2 facelift Octavia VRS so I'm on the search but struggling to find a petrol estate! I may settle on a hatch, or even a diesel if i cant find a petrol estate, but I'm unsure if I will get problems with DPF doing about 10/15 miles a day on A roads...

Welcome to the forum and indeed scotland

You could maybe buy an older diesel without the dreaded DPF - the 1.9 tdi is a great engine,fast and economic.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've had the 1.9 lump previously and it's a great motor, afternsomething a bit newer now though.
