My wipers seem to move at about half of their normal speed. They move smoothly (but slowly) up the screen, but judder really badly on the way back. Battery voltage is fine, so don't believe it is a voltage issue.

Can't get scuttle cover to look at the motor at the moment though. Could the linkage need some grease?

Any ideas? 2001 model.

Is this on all speeds or just intermittent?

Try the relay first, if not i was told octy wiper motor had a fix to it by a dealer when they did mine.

Sounds very much like the linkage is seizing up, very common fault. Requires a new linkage usually (not to pricey) just do it before it ruins the motor.
