Side lights on 2010 FL VRS

Featured Replies

I have just returned with my UK car from Belgium (lived there for 4 years). I swapped back the right hand drive headlight units and put all the bulbs in.

They all work perfectly apart from sidelights. On the car when I turn side lights on the DLR lights dim but the tiny bulb (on long plastic stick in unit) which I thought was side lights don't come on. Are they meant to? Only concerned due to MOT to get it re registered here.

Any help massively appreciated :)

As you haven't stated which trim you have then I'll presume it's a VRS and say that's normal for them not to work. ;)

@john999boy - vRS is mentioned in the title ;)

Just to second it, the sidelights in the headlight cluster aren't connected in the vRS. They are only present as the same headlight is used in other models which don't have combined LED DRL/sidelights in the bumper.

That'll teach me just to look in the 'normal' place where people 'should' put their car details lol.

As above, they don't function in the vRS but beware of MoT testers who aren't aware of that!

Thanks guys that's really helpful.

Just had my VRS fail on this, until I pointed out to the tester that the DRLs do their job and there's not even any wiring to the sidelights!

Same here, mot tester phoned me to come down to explain side lights won't come on, I got down there and both my headlights were off the car. Doh!
