Just a quick question. Thinking of getting a full system, what size downpipe/system should I go for... 2.5" or 3"?

Cheers lads!

Bigger the better...............I think mine is 2.5" (Milltek), but HUGE looking compared to the stock one. It's attached to a Supersprint system. I like it

Been advised that if running a standard turbo, stick with 2.5", but if a bigger turbo, then 3". So I'll be sticking with the 2.5" I think then.

maybe a wise choice... even though 3 is the magic number....

Had 2.5'' with Milltek dp...no got a 3''dp with IHI turbo.

What like the pea sized one you have? ;)

Turbo that is Dave.;)

ive got a 3" as was on special at last track day and noticed a great differance but even a 2.5 will still be so much better than stock

What size is the turbo outlet on the 1.8 T (out of curiousity)

After what I was told when I got my exhaust done yesterday, I was wondering. I was told the stock DP/outlet on the TDI is 2", so fitting a 2.5" full stainless system is pretty pointless. Which is why I elected to have a full 2.25" instead.

I guess there's little point the main pipework vastly exceeding the diameter of the turbo outlet? Is there? Would love some good techie info from those with a lot more knowledge than me (Lets be fair, that's not hard....)
