Accerelator pedal response

Featured Replies

Hi

Recently i became proud owner of 2008 TDi VRS. Immediately after purchase i have noticed some slight hesitation in throttle, and little stuttering on low revs .

Thing that worries me the most is the lag when i take a foot of throttle after hard accelleration  - car still accelerates 0.5 -1s after i lift the foot off  pedal (does not mater wchich gear  - noticable past 3500RPM).

Things i ve done so far:

Cleaned Throttle Body (Manifold Flap motor)

Cleaned EGR

Cleaned Inlet Manifold

Changed all filters and oil

No Errors on VCDS

Even the service history was complete (all Skoda stamps) it looked like the fuel filter and air filter has not been changed from new...

After deep clean of the above the stuttering on low revs stopped and car is little bit more responsive - the lag off throttle still persists!

Any ideas guys?

Check the accelerator pedal operates freely.

I knew someone once who had problems with their new Mitsubishi, engine would rev uncontrollably and took a few seconds to reduce to normal but only with hubby in control.  It never happened when wife drove it.

When asked if I could fix what the Mitsubishi dealer couldn't, I saw within seconds that the pedal jammed behind the drivers floor mat on full depression and it took a few seconds for the return spring to overcome the mat's resistance.

It never happened with the wife as she drove less heavy footed.

I'm not saying the mat is a problem however with a new car you never know the history, perhaps a soft drink was spilled and has gummed up the pedal workings.

Drive less aggressively for a while and see if it makes a difference.

Thanks MicMac for the tips - checked the pedal -- all good.

In the end i have replaced throttle body (throttle flap motor) and issue is now fixed.

No more lag...

No worries, glad you fixed it.
