DSG ACT DSG SCR

Featured Replies

Am looking at a TSI engined Superb to replace my DSG TDi Octavia but am confused by the acronyms.

What is the ACT as in the 1.4 TSI 150PS DSG ACT Hatchback?

Likewise the SCR in the 2.0 TSI 150PS 4x4 SCR Hatchback?

ACT = Active Cylinder Technology (IIRC) - this shuts off two cylinders when they are not needed to save fuel.

SCR = I forget the full name, but basically means the car needs Adblue.

^^^

Simply, ACT = 2 cylinders can shut down when not required in the petrol TSI..   Audi call it COD.  Cylinder on demand.

SCR = Adbue used with  TDI's.

You need to top up the Adblue tank/ Selective Catalytic Reduction.

You must have misread or found a typo somewhere as there isn't such a beast as a Superb III 2.0 TSI 150PS 4x4, only a 2.0 TDI 150PS 4x4 SCR which uses AdBlue.

In fact the only petrol option with 4x4 is the 280.

The full range of engines/gearbox available in the UK for the Superb III, depending on trim level, are...

Petrol

1.4 TSI 125PS - Manual

1.4 TSI 150PS ACT - Manual or DSG
2.0 TSI 220PS - DSG

2.0 TSI 280PS 4x4 - DSG

Diesel
1.6 TDI 120PS - Manual or DSG

2.0 TDI 150PS - Manual or DSG

2.0 TDI 150PS 4x4 SCR - Manual
2.0 TDI 190PS SCR - Manual or DSG

2.0 TDI 190PS 4x4 SCR - DSG

Came from downloaded brochure from Skoda website! Thought it was odd but had no clue as to what SCR was or is!

Skoda do not sell a 2.0 TSi 150PS 4 x 4 hatch (or estate). That car will be a TDi.

I am merely quoting from the current downloadable Superb Pricing and Specs brochure. Page 3 item 8.

Smack in the middle of the TDi range, obviously a typo.
