Electrical Gremlins (Possibly...)

Featured Replies

I have noticed recently that if I pull on my window switches with the windows up, then the revs drop? Not enough to stall the engine, but enough to make her chug for a second or two. Are there any common electrical issues that could cause this? I get the same when I turn the air con on, although the engine management detects this load and speeds the tick over slightly to compensate.

Will try and get a video lunchtime

Check voltage across battery terminals before and after starting the engine.

@octyal - I've a notion that your idle speed controller may be a little slow. Try the same test with the HRW. If you get the same effect, I'd be fairly sure the issue is the idle speed controller.

Cheers, will try that later. May even plug VCDS lite in and see what that says, no codes on either of my other scanners (Sealey hand held and Torque app). May whip the throttle body off too and give it a clean.

Hardly any reaction when I turn on the HRW, very slight dip, but nowhere near the same as if I pull the window switch with the window up.
