Part ID please - Skoda Felicia

Featured Replies

My wife drives a '98 1.3LXi Felicia that has an alternator fault.

Is the tin box that bolts onto one end of the alternator the part usually listed as the 'voltage regulator' ?

This is pretty much the only removable part, secured with two machine screws, containing the two brushes and having a single wire coming off it.

The rest of the alternator is fine (having checked it by temporarily swapping this part with one from a known good alternator).

Don't suppose anyone knows the Skoda part number, do they?

Cheers

Thanks, that's what I thought it was.

The Fellatio is my wife's car. I drive a 1969 Landrover and it's called a diode-pack on one of them, hence why I needed confirmation.

Same as basically.

Pretty common, usually go mental and start charging at 18-19 volts. This does a couple of things. It knackeres the battery, flashes up the airbag light and if left long enough shorts the engine ECU straight to earth.

I am having intermittent electrical surges on my !98 1.3 lxi felica - relay buzzing, headlights flashing ect. New alternator fitted 18 months ago, new battery in 6 months, still charging fine. Alternator Belt replaced & tensioned last month. Problem still occurs! Can anyone help please?
