Headlights, Irish spec Style

Featured Replies

One for the Irish on here, what headlight options were available on a 2016 Superb Style? Dealers seem to be confused as to exactly what's fitted to them. Are the current ones different?

In Ireland for the MkIII I believe the standard is Xenon with LEDs for the style.

All I see listed are Bi Xenons with AFS

It's bi-xenon with adaptive on all spec levels except the bog basic Active version (unlike UK where halogens are also on the SE). DRLs are LED as well. No full LED headlights available on Superbs yet unfortunately although they are available on the new Kodiaq.  Was that a Skoda dealer that didn't know? Doesn't surprise me as many are clueless about spec.  Remember if you're still looking at the A6 as well, you'll find full LEDs as standard on the s-line (well later versions anyway).

Thanks for the info, that's what I thought was fitted but a dealer told me he had one with LED on a 2016.

I was disappointed with the S Line not having memory seats (my usually gentle wife ended up with a piece of seat adjustment lever in her hand) or folding mirrors and the boot was small. I carry around a lot of gear and everything fits in the Superb.

That's trade-off with the Audi, or most other cars for that matter!  Space will rarely be like the Superb.  Its very easy to get used to those nice luxury features like the memory seats and then anything else seems like a compromise.  For instance, I never had a heated steering wheel or cooled seats until recently and would definitely miss them now.  When you start adding those to premium cars you'll know all about it!  One that springs to mind is BMW still charging for lumber support on the new 5 series!!

As I mentioned above on the headlights, be aware of any UK imports in SE or SE Business trim as they will probably have halogens (unless xenons were added as extras).  That's bound to catch out a few over here that might be importing as we are used to having nearly all our MKIII Superbs with xenons.  The only base trims I've ever seen have been hire cars.

The Irish spec is listed here. Scroll down to bottom and download pricelist. Bi-xenon head lights with AFS (adaptive front lighting) included from ambition spec up wards. Also daytime led running lights.
