Interior Light Problem

Featured Replies

Am having a problem with my Skoda Citigos interior light. When I unlock the car normally the cars interior light comes on and once am in the car and turn the key in the ignition it then turns off. Or when I take the key out the ignition it comes on then soon as I lock the car it turns off. However it has stopped doing this. When I press the over head switch manually it comes on no problem so it works but just doesn't do it automatically anymore. The car is only 2 years old so still has another 1 year warranty left. So just needing some advice on what I can do or if Skoda themselves will look at it due to it still being in warranty.

If its a fault, it is their fault! I had a headlight switch replaced as mine stopped working and new, they are around the £50 mark so I did;t want to pay for it! I guess your light will be a similar price from the dealer so get them to look at it, if all the bulbs are fine. (I have a Fabia, which has Three bulbs, with the auto function you describe). I think though, the auro function CAN be disabled but not sure if its a manual switch thing or via coding on the computer!

The switch needs to be in the correct position. It needs to be in the middle position for automatic on/off. It's all explained in the owners handbook that comes with the car. Page 46 in my late 2014 edition.

If the switch on the light is in the correct position for auto mode and it's not working then yes just take it to your local Skoda dealer and get them to look at it under warranty. ;)

Just out of interest, if the OP has a PID does it show when the doors are open/closed?
