No. There's a thin hose from airbox to rocker cover that lets a small amount of fresh, filtered air into the crankcase, but the one I've ringed is what relieves crankcase pressure back into the intake.

No idea what your ebay link item might do, but more than likely a fault light due to creation of an air leak.

Start by SERVICING the car properly, change the spark plugs, fluids, filters etc. clean it properly and lube up door hinges, locks and anything else that needs it. Fix stuff you can see is broken.

Don't start buying crap to stick all over it to solve imaginary problems, it will burn a little oil because the valve guide stem seals will be hard and worn due to the age and mileage, this is not worth worrying about.

A quick and easy investigation into the state of the crankcase ventilation system is to unscrew the oil filler cap while the engine is running.

If it tries to pull itself back down, the PCV system is working as designed. If it tries to blow away upward, things aren't so good and may need more looking into.

These & the AUB create "mayo" because of the alu head, condensation forms it the head & water then causes mayo...which people automatically think is the coolant & the head castet is gone..

The oil separator & breather hose clog up BADLY with this & need to cleaned or replaced....I cleaned once & replaced once on my car 60K miles...

I ended up replacing that oil separator on a 2002 BBY engine Polo when it was quite old, and it sorted out that engine's desire for oil, something that it had acquired shortly after its 5th or 6th birthday at a guess! It took me quite a long time to narrow it down to that part - after running out of any other (duff) ideas!

Undo the 3 M6 screws that hold it onto the engine block. Item 20 here, seals are items 17 and 18 https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/2004-253/1/103-103010/

You should remove and clean the outlet pipe, item 28, if it has any blockage.

No, the oil level is well below that area. :)
