I just changed my cabin filter to a Mann one which in the manual says it needs to go in a certain way due to the airflow.

 

Based on the image, it suggests airflow is heading toward the passenger door not inward towards the central console.

 

Can anyone confirm this is the case so I have it around the correct way.

The image supplied by Mann is for a fitting to a LHD car. So I read the arrows in the Mann diagram as going from the door towards the central unit. But it will not make a huge difference.

Had this quandary myself last week, it is quite difficult to tell. I ended up holding a long strip of paper in the filter recess and watching where it went, and can confirm that for rhd the airflow goes towards the centre console.
