Update Amundsen - Apple iMac Computer

Featured Replies

All the above shows about a 4gb SD card.
It will only work on the original Skoda map SD card and that is considerably bigger than that.

I was using a spare card to demonstrate the unlocking / formatting functions as that seemed to be where the problems were.

I've just tried putting the new download for Amundsen Nav on to the SD card but I keep getting the msg." the item "markets" can't be copied due not enough space."

I've formatted the SD as ExFat. The "info" gives the available space after format as 7.83GB, 7.82GB free. The "markets" file according to info is 7.83GB. So how's it supposed to go on the SD card?

I then tried another format of the SD and put the old map version back on. This went on the SD but when putting the card back in the car (Octavia) the system now does not recognise the card.

I've done this update before but never had this problem.

iMac running El Capitan.

Anu suggestions greatfully received.

What year is the car?
The Amundsen II map download is about 13GB so how come you have what looks like an 8GB SD card?

The Octavia is 2015 reg.

Are you sure it's fitted with an Amundsen II?
How many SD card slots on the front of it?

Urell, i'm not sure which Amundsen unit it is. in the system it just gives device 5E00035874A. And it has 2 slots on the CD player.

I have now tried a different SD card Formatter, which formatted the card again to Fat3 not exFat and increased the memory to 8.3GB.

This was enough too put the new download on, which it did.

The unit this time recognised the SD card (thank goodness) however it then said there was nothing on the card it could read.

So finally i've just reformatted the card again and dropped the last copied map 2015/16 onto it and success. The card was read and the Sat Nav has now rebooted.

So at least i'm back where i was.

Perhaps it's best to forgo the latest update at least the Nav is working again.

Until that is. it freezes or the screen becomes stuck in Hamburg instead of Cardiff etc. Again.

Advice from Dealer. "Take a photo of the screen if it happens again"

Yes i'll do that on a Motorway at 70 with my mob.phone!!!

I managed to do this earlier today - was quite an easy process that took less than 20 mins.  Sorry you seem to be having some problems - maybe get a dealer to do it for you?
