2011 Mk 2 ,Simple question can the relay be powered from the cigar lighter, I dont need info on cable sizes, loads, fuses or any other issue, only if it is feasible

As in a bypass relay for towbar electronics?

 

I would imagine it can but I'd probably find a more permanent solution.

Its what I did on my old MK1, however it is easy enough to run a cable to the fuse box on the console end and piggy back a fuse to a live feed on a MK 2, plenty of info on how to do same.

I went down the cigar lighter route and bypass relay as a quick solution to get a van home I plan a more elegant solution later and use the rear ashtray cubby with a fuse and isolator within
